E332: The Problem with Marxism with Special Guest Semi Bird

E332 Introduction

One of the things I have always tried to do on Basecamp is to speak the truth but also to shine the light in some of the nooks and crannies of our awareness. This I try to do on a personal level as well as the collective/narrative level.

The question I often as is: What challenges to clear seeing are we currently facing? What are the threats and opportunities for WE THE PEOPLE? In America, the primary threat that I see, the one that underlies all other threats, is the long-march through our institutions of the Marxist/Communist agenda. It has become clear that most of our institutions are infested with Marxist and Communist people and ideas.  And once you see it, you can’t unsee it. It is unsettling to see it but awake is better than sleepwalking while your free nation is being taken from the inside.

Today’s interview is with my new friend Semi Bird. We get into the whole Marxist/Socialist/Communist incursion into our American institutions and highlight education in particular.  My sense is that that Marxism quietly snuck up on many Americans but as my guest and I see it, it needs to be looked at, studied, and countered at every turn. The worst thing we can do as Americans is surrender to this agenda- which is Communist/Globalist and deeply anti-American and anti-humanity.

One of the things that characterizes Marxism and thus, Communism is that it incites hatred amongst people (isn’t that interesting), creates and escalates conflicts, and seizes power through violent revolution or subterfuge. To quote a famous Chinese Communist Chiang Kai-Shek “The goal of communism isn’t to solve problems but to expand global contradictions to the greatest extent possible and cause human struggle to continue forever.” At the point where you have a portion of the population that can’t tell the difference between men and women, I would say Communism is succeeding in creating the contradictions to the greatest extent possible. And look at what one of the main goals of Marxism and Communism: perpetual struggle. Sound like the current state of affairs? Is this what we want-stress, struggle, hatred of others, division. Can we wake up from this bad dream in time to save future generations?

Let’s go dialogue with Semi about this most important challenge Americans face: how do we start to shift things back away from the hatred and division that Marxism creates and start to think about what is good for America and Americans again. How do we reclaim our history and our civics from Communist influenced so-called scholars and teachers who have an entirely different agenda than helping children thrive.

It is a big topic and Semi and I take a big swing at it today with more to come I am sure. Enjoy the episode.

E29: The Semi Bird Interview

E29 Introduction

Hello listeners and thank you for tuning into The American Pulse.  One of the defining characteristics of Americans is a courageous willingness to put our values on the line in the narrative and spiritual battlefield that we are facing. And to take heat in the process. My guest today happens to be a perfect example of this.

He is a man who selflessly stepped up to public service after a long and decorated military service to our nation. Only to be targeted by the morally compromised Uniparty donor class and their little minions in the media and within the Republican party.

He was the candidate of WE THE PEOPLE did not win that battle. However, we are Americans. We are tough-minded and hard to get rid of. We dust ourselves off, learn our lessons, and come back with greater clarity, vision, and resolve. The founding fathers (and future generations)  are counting on us to not let the Globalists and Communists have our nation.  This is neither hyperbole nor a falsehood to state it this way.

I feel honored to have this be the first interview that my guest has granted after an extended period of rest, renewal, and retrospection following his 2024 gubernatorial race.  We caught up with him to talk about all the things we care about: God, family, the American way, and serving our nation.

We also talk about the aftermath of his 2024 gubernatorial candidacy, his re-emergence in his Christian faith and the documents of the Founding Fathers. We talk about how America is a nation blessed by God and how we have, to our detriment, outsourced our authority to govern ourselves and what we can do to fix this and start to move the needle in the favor of WE THE PEOPLE.

Let’s get to our sponsor and our interview with proud American Semi Bird. Enjoy the conversation.

E330: This is Our 1776 Moment

E330 Introduction

As Americans, we have an important legacy to protect. After all, our founding fathers fought and died so that we could have a chance at holding and protecting this great Constitutional Republic for future generations. To be an American is to have a responsibility to do our part, each and every one of us.

I promise to do my part, as you can hear today and I trust you to do your part. That is how we win. The Globalist establishment with their Marxist collectivist ideas and tactics, want us divided and confused. This is how they move their chess pieces down the board. Hoping we don’t notice what they have done in our schools or what they do in our elections.

They are counting on our passivity. Counting that our battle fatigue from this narrative war has left us depleted of spirit. That we have lost our American pride, our fight, our natural optimism ,and faith in God. The Marxists will fail at this.

As you will hear in today’s conversation, WE THE PEOPLE are not running on empty. Far from it. Whenever we have lost a battle, we have retreated, renewed ourselves and our faith, and come back with more wisdom and resolve. And in greater numbers.

Before we get to our excellent guest, I have a Jordan Peterson meme for you. He posted this right before our 250th Independence Day. I thought you would enjoy it.

Mr. Peterson says “To the Americans: I’ve travelled all overt the world. I’ve familiarized myself with many places, met many people. And I’m Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States.

And here’s something I’ve noticed, and it’s a key element of America’s continuing greatness:  You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence.

This is something that doesn’t really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies- the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand, and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands. In these places a counterproductive cynicism seems to reign.

This happens sometimes in the United States too-particularly among the misearable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom.

But in your country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated.

This means that more people strive and succeed in the U. S. Than anywhere else. And it’s increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet.

And so I say, as all should how are fortunate enough to live the in the western world, let along America:

Thank God for the United States.

Thank Go for the wisdom of its founders.

Thank God for its faith in the free markets and in the natural rights of man

Happy Birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners.

Long may your admirable country dominate the world

Long may freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states.

May your two and a half centuries of unparalleled success be just the beginning.

Your country is the light of the world and the city on the hill.

Thank God for the USA.

Happy 250.”

Dr. Jordan Peterson

What a great blessing for our nation and its people. Thank you Dr. Peterson.

Today’s interview is with an American that I truly admire and respect and he was gracious enough to grant me his first interview since a retreat from public life for the past two and a half years after his gubernatorial run.  I feel honored and humbled.

Let’s get a word from our sponsor and get to this excellent interview. Enjoy the episode.

E330 Final Thoughts

I hope you enjoyed that conversation as much as I did. I absolutely LOVE Semi’s new organization Empowering Washington Freedom Alliance. I am already lending my support and I encourage you to do the same. It is organizations and Americans like Semi that will help us move the needle in our favor. Kids need to understand our real history and heroes of their nation and have pride in this great country as Dr. Peterson so eloquently stated at the start. You can support the Empowering Washington Freedom Alliance at www.ewafa.org

Thank you Basecampers and we’ll see you around the fire next week.
