E7: Our Neighbors Awaken

E7 Introduction

Hello listeners and welcome to The American Pulse. It is great to have you here with us today. Today is a short little episode with our sponsor, a short piece of news and a song! We are early in our creative process with The American Pulse and trying some different ways of delivering something valuable to you. Knowing that we are all bombarded with content. We are hoping to find something that is short but impactful. Let’s get right to it with a word from our sponsor and this short offering.

There is a local story here that I wanted to share with you along with some of my thoughts on it.

There was a local Democrat leader Jessica Roberts, a transgender woman (meaning, of course a man posing as a woman), who was unanimously elected to the local Lynnwood city council. Well, they didn’t do their due diligence very well as it quickly emerged that Jessica had some dark fantasies that she posted on Reddit. What were they? She graphically describes fantasies of killing and dismembering women and also of eating children while people watch. Yes you heard that right.

Why am I telling you this. For all of the independents and Democrats who have finally had enough.

As a fairly new Republican myself, I want to welcome you with respect and appreciation of your courage for we know how difficult it can be to break away from the herd. Many of us did the same thing. It’s truly a Hero’s Journey and we honor wherever you are on your awakening.

To finish, here is a song of optimism for those that have had enough of the madness. This song harkens back to my own journey. When I looked around at the insane ideas that we being foisted up us and made a choice to reach for a more positive and uplifting narrative.

If you like the song, go download Wake Me Up by Avicii on I-Tunes. And we thank you for tuning into The American Pulse.

E268: Wisdom and Clear Seeing w Special Guest Joel Rafidi

E268 Introduction

One of the central themes of this show (especially since 2020 and Covid) has been the Great Awakening of consciousness in the human tribe. Things have been accelerated on this timeline. And as much as pro-freedom, pro-American MAGA and MAHA are ready to celebrate the renewal of the American dream, we have some underlying dynamics that need to play out, are you following me?

As my guest today so eloquently expresses, much of the world feels like these are dark days, apocolypic even. It is important to keep that in mind as these epic events unfold, one after another.

It is a good time to travel LIGHTLY, meaning don’t hold too tightly to preconceived notions of right and wrong, us and them. Humanity as a collective seem to be holding on for dear life right now and keeping that in your awareness will help you and others.

What do humans do when they gradually realize that the systems that they placed their faith in not only don’t serve them but have actively tried to gaslight them and keep them in the dark. The cognitive dissonance that we are witnessing right now is astonishing.

However, there is more light coming into awareness. You can sense this as well. Each day brings a new revelation. We are suddenly realizing COLLECTIVELY that there are many things that we DON’T need as a society. This list is growing every day as the exposure of graft and corruption reach epic proportions.

It’s a good time to restore one’s faith. Whether that is God and Christ or the Divine or the benevolent forces of the creative Universe or just humanity and each other. We have allies that are assisting us, both inner and outer.

Today’s guest is one of my favorite’s. A fellow lover of truth, humanity, freedom, and the Hero’s Journey. Enjoy the interview.

E268 Final Thoughts-

I hope you enjoyed that conversation as much as I did. I feel like I could sit around the fire all night shooting the shit about all the things that are unfolding. To get directly connected to Joel’s content, go subscribe to his excellent podcast Here for the Truth.

E266: Humility and the Hero‘s Journey w Special Guest Beth Martens

E266 Introduction

Every once in in awhile, I come across a guest with similar interests as myself. I am not talking about sports or Bitcoin or the dismantling of the Deep State. All things I am deeply fascinated with.

No, the interests I am talking about is my long-term fascination and study of myth, archetypes, and the Hero’s Journey. These tools have taught me so much in such a short period of time, that is if you consider 20 or 25 years to be a short period of time. In may ways these things have made me who I am today.

When you work with archetypes and myth, something seems to awaken in your Soul. A remembrance perhaps. And a wisdom emerges. That my life belongs to something deeper and bigger than just myself and my little ego.

There is a very noticeable and powerful impact that living this way has on oneself and those around you. You no longer live this life with so much struggle and angst. Quite the contrary. There is a lightness emerges that comes with right-sizing the ego. The Divine Light (Christ, God, Goddess, however you conceive this Divinity) can shine through and speak through you. The seeker of the Grail becomes a resonance for others to also seek the Soul within.

The more you do this, the more you trust it. I have seen it a thousand times in both myself and those around me.

Something is emerging in humanity right now. We seem to be in the midst of reclaiming something that most people aren’t even aware that we had lost. It is the most fascinating time to be alive.

I am always grateful to speak to a fellow traveler. A woman who has done the work to understand both her own Hero’s Journey but also helps others make sense of their life chapters using this same powerful lenses and tools. Enjoy the interview!

Beth Martens Bio

My guest today is Beth Martens. Beth is a mystic and teacher, a musician, an author and a podcaster. She is also a woman with a deep knowledge of archetypes and the Hero’s Journey. Here is my interview w Beth Martens.

E266 Final Thoughts

I hope you enjoyed that interview as much as I did. I have the privilege of coming onto Beth’s podcast the King Hero’s Journey podcast. That is perfect for the two of us. I will share details as we get there. Thank you Basecampers!

E265: The Courage to Face Addiction with Special Guest Sathiya Sam

E265 Introduction

Addiction, the Hero’s Journey, Shadow Work, and Men’s Groups. These are all topics, frames, and narrative tools that I have worked with personally and witnessed countless men skillfully navigate the challenges they face.

Shadow work is funny. Men have a tendency to want to project a confident, flawless, high status and achievement oriented persona to face the world. And so often, the shadow (which we define as all the things we hide, repress, and deny about ourselves) lurks and grows stronger with each passing year. The addiction that we can’t seem to get a handle on. The wound that keeps festering.

The Hero’s Journey is nothing if not a mythical context to grow courage in ourselves. And every addict (myself included) who has ever wrestled with this shadowy material knows a delightful truth. That addressing your addiction, whether that is alcohol, drugs, pornography, or technology, has positive ramifications for not just the individual, but the whole family lineage and, indeed, the whole human tribe.

We are courageous by nature Basecampers. Our addictions and Hero’s Journey are a way to really KNOW this in our hearts and in our Soul. The Hero’s Journey always leads to someplace unexpected and valuable. The former addict becomes a mentor, helping others. The restless young man with no mission or positive direction finds clarity and his path in life once the shadow is seen and worked with.

I have seen it a bunch and so has my guest today. A wonderful teacher and testament to looking at the dragon that nobody wants to look at. And then building a bridge for the next man and then the next.

I enjoyed this conversation more than just about any in recent memory. And you can tell that his work is right in alignment with our values here at Basecamp. Enjoy the interview.

Sathiya Sam Bio

My guest today is Sathiya Sam. Sathiya is a father, husband, coach, international speaker, and author. A former university researcher, then a pastor, and now the creator of Deep Clean and Liberated Man programs born out of Sathiya’s 15 year addiction recovery and the life he’s built since. Here is my interview with Sathiya Sam.

E265 Final Thoughts

I hope you enjoyed that interview as much as I did. What a great mission Sathiya is on and what a great offering for men. There are addiction programs out there but I don’t see one that offers so many of the tools that we preach here on this show.

E260: Season Six Finale

E260 Introduction

Well, we have come to the end of our 6th season. I hope you enjoyed this year’s content as much as I enjoyed creating it with my guests. There is much to be excited for as we turn the calendar to 2025.

We were all set to interview Dr. Ben Tapper but his wife went into labor with their 4th child (a son he told me) and so we needed to postpone. So instead of this being an interview about health and whatnot, it’s just me doing a short-format Firestarter to finish the season out. I hope you don’t mind.

Today’s episode will hit tomorrow, Dec. 17th and then we are on sabbatical for a few weeks. We have an exciting Season #7 planned and the first episode will likely be Jan. 21st, right after Trump’s inauguration.

Thank you for listening this past season Basecampers, I truly appreciate it. We all have so much to be grateful for as we finish out 2024 and begin anew in 2025. America is experiencing a renewal of her Soul.

I am grateful to live in America, my geographical and spiritual home. I am grateful for leaders on the national scene like President Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy and RFK Jr. 2025 won’t be perfect. But it is sure to be a year for the ages. And I am here for it, pen and microphone in hand.

I hope you also get a chance to unplug from work, spend time laughing and appreciating your loved ones. I hope you get a chance to celebrate Christ and the Divine in whatever way is meaningful to you. For we are ALL connected in the heart of the Divine. In the heart of Jesus Christ our Lord, our Light.

It is a time let the Light in,, kick up our joy, , and love and celebrate one another. Thank you all. Your ears and heart give my life a clear purpose. We’ll see you again in just few short weeks. Merry Christmas Basecampers!
