E304: Season 7 Finale- The Fallen Goddess

E304 Introduction

Well, we have come to the end of Season #7. I hope you enjoyed these conversations as much as I did. I picked out a Basecamp Classic to finish with and it is one of my better ones, imho.

For those that don’t know, and many of you don’t, I have officially retired from my steady eddy job behind the bar at the WAC. What a run that was and I want to thank everyone that crossed my path there. The regulars who became my friends, the staff and team members who have been my work family.

I will miss so many things about being there but mainly I will miss all the familiar and kind faces that made up my life for the past 17 years. When people ask me what will I do next, my honest answer is I’m not sure. I will be writing more (for sure), continuing to invest and manage my money, traveling and spending more quality time with my wife, my son, and my friends and family.

I think for the next 4-6 months, I am just going to chill out and pray and reflect on what will the next chapters of my Hero’s Journey.

One thing on the horizon will be season #8 for Basecamp for Men. We will be taking the Holiday season off (as usual) to creatively and spiritually recharge for a new season starting on January 20th. If you go to I-Tunes or Spotify and follow the show, you won‘t miss a thing as you will be notified when we are rolling again.

Today’s Basecamp Classic is one I did a long time ago but it is one of my all-time favorite episodes. Just me, a mic, and a myth that packs a wallop, no matter what your religious leanings are. Thank you for listening Basecampers and we’ll see you around the fire in Season 8.

E298: Basecamp Classic

E298 Introduction

Well, with all sorts of things going on including getting over to our new house in central Washington and my beloved Seattle Mariners making the playoffs and scoring tickets, I just ran out of runway to get you something useful by Tues.

But do not fear Basecampers, we have our trusty Basecamp Classics where I take a real gem from our extensive back catalogue and offer it to you again. These are not random selections. I do my best to get you some of my best content and episodes that still feel really relevant to what is going on in the world and what might be going on with you personally.

This one is from back in season #4 with James Rapson titled Freeing Yourself from “Niceness”. It is perfect for all you people-pleasers out there and I used to be one of them. A healthy dose of menswork cured me of it and James and I talk all about it in the episode.

Also, I want to write a short episode on the storm that we are all facing. It seems the rapidly changing landscape is creating all sorts of inner chaos and turmoil as we all prepare for our black belt test in how fast can you integrate new inputs and a changing reality. Are you following me? I think I can write a juicy Firestarter in the next week or two.

For the time being, enjoy this Basecamp Classic with James Rapson.

E293: Basecamp Classic

E293 Introduction

Well, I had an interview that fell through this past week and I’m travelling a bit. So I thought it would be a perfect time for a Basecamp Classic. These are top-shelf replays of episodes done in past seasons.

What I do is look over my list and then read over the notes for the top two or three and then select the best one. I thought this one was particularly interesting as we are talking about navigating the chaos and messiness of the times we’re living in using your own inner knowing as a compass. These themes hold up well, don’t they Basecampers?

The original title was Dealing with Ourselves with my old friend Ben. Enjoy this Classic and we’ll see you around the fire next week.

E279: Basecamp Classic

E279 Introduction

Well with Memorial Day weekend upon us, I had to set aside my pen, paper (and microphone) for a few days and it created a bit of a space in my production flow. So today is a Basecamp Classic (a rerun of a former top shelf episode).

I choose an episode from Season 3 with Hunter Toran titled The Path of Initiation. We seem to all be going through initiations and new rites of passages lately. Children are suddenly graduating from high school or college. Gen Xers are suddenly talking about retirement. Our Baby Boomer parents are aging and entering new chapters that may require their loved ones to take on more responsibility and decision making for the family.

I can see how much my own 18 y.o. son, ready to graduate from hs in a few days, is resisting his own rite of passage. Much like we all tend to resist our next chapters. Adulthood may not look so inviting to his young mind. And why would it? Each chapter of our Hero‘s Journey is filled with fear and uncertainty and loss. Sure, there is great promise in the new chapters. But it would be a lie to say that rites of passages are easy. They are not.

When we complete one phase, the new one often looks terrifying. Who will we be? Who will I travel with? Will my loved ones come with me or not? What am I looking for in my life right now? Where is my Soul longing to take me?

There are always big existential questions that confront us in initiations and rites of passage. That is the Soul’s way. The best a man or woman can do? Feel the kaleidoscope of emotions. Especially the tender feelings, the vulnerabilities for that is what gives the Soul (that inner divinity) space to communicate and properly navigate the Journey of the Soul.

Thanks for listening and enjoy this classic episode from Season three.

E258: Basecamp Classic w Special Guest Keri Smith

E258 Introduction

I had a good bodywork session last week, something I used to do for work. She’s a Kennedy liberal and we got to talking about politics and Trump and what the left is afraid of. She is great, open-minded, which is the key particularly if you want to see how you have been conditioned to hate Donald Trump.

She started to tell me a few of the reasons that she does not like Donald Trump: he is a dictator, he hates women, he is a racist, etc etc. I listened and said that I understood all that. I then asked her to at least ENTERTAIN the idea that the MSM has been lying to her. That the things that she has heard Trump say (about women, being a dictator, white supremacists, et al) have been lifted from longer speeches and put in another context. In other words, the media will LOOK for things that they can lift out of a context that Trump is speaking about and then BUILD A NEW CONTEXT with all sorts of unfavorable things and this is what they then hand to Rachel Maddow or Anderson Cooper or any of their other CIA assets in the media and try to build a narrative and a consensus.

Donald Trump is dangerous….to THEM. And when I say “them”, I don’t mean liberals or even screeching radical leftists. I mean treasonous politicians who have sold out America to communist and Globalist interests and pedos. The ones on the Epstein and P-Diddy lists. Those are the individuals who should be afraid and rightfully so.

Trump has no interest in being a dictator. Trump is not going to make abortion illegal on a national level. It is going to stay at the state level, WHERE IT BELONGS for a very long time.

Trump is not going to dismantle Social Security, that is ridiculous.

Trump is not going to deport you if you are here legally. If you broke the law and came here ILLEGALLY, particularly if you are a known violent criminal with nefarious plans for our nation, yeah you might need to Plan B it since the Big Guy is back in charge.

Most of the fears of liberals will come to naught. But there will be lots of changes happening. Most will be great for America.

My challenge to Kennedy liberals is this. Can you keep an open mind this time around? Can you at least ENTERTAIN the idea that the things they have pushed so hard in the MSM mono-narrative about this one man COULD BE FALSE? Fabricated, made-up, FAKE news?

I promise you my old friends on the left, if you can keep an open mind you will arrive at a much better viewpoint. Both for yourself, your loved ones, and the nation. We are on the brink of something very unusual, historic and jaw-dropping. Truth and justice are about to take the stage.

Join us in supporting this. And now, here is today’s episode. A Classic with Keri Smith from back in Season 5. Enjoy the episode.
